Excellent Gentlemen are a funk, jazz and soul band who grew up together in New York. The bond between the members of the band through growing up together is evident within their stage presence and their interaction between each other on stage. Their roots are drawn from East Coast neo-soul and hip-hop communities, these friends have forged a signature sound that is steeped in sweet soulfulness and grooves.
The group often play a lot of danceable, vocal soul and R&B music. There music can be branded as a combination of 70s block parties and golden age hip hop records. Their music stands for positivity, love happiness and sex; this is definitely not the same as mediocre Indie-rock. On the strength of their incredible live show. The band is an independently run band and has ignited a huge and passionate fan-base and has become a hot touring funk act in the pacific northwest. The debut album of the band is extremely overdue and will be released in 2009.
